I'm sitting on the couch soaking my feet in Epsom salt water and heard the TV pop and it wasnt even on.

You don’t want to turn it on if it is a short circuit and then put on more of a load to the AC transformer providing power.

If it is popping and cracking then power is getting to the TV. The house circuit breaker is not detecting a current overload if there is one. Internal to the tv there would be a fuse for protection but they aren’t fool proof.
