Yes actually i have been. I friend of mine left here after an incident and i felt partly responsible he'd decided to leave. I put up a post telling mutual friends to message me if they wanted the full story as i didnt want to post it for all to read, partly because i didnt feel it fair on my friend who was no longer here. One friend messaged me and asked what had happened so i told him privately. He then told me i must make it public because i was only not doing so so i didnt look like the villan. I told him that wasnt why i didnt post it publically, i just didnt feel it needed to be public as the other person involved wasnt around to ask. This 'friend' then told me i was a lair and i manipulated the facts to avoid looking bad. He then posted that on a public post stating i was a liar and only cared about how i looked to others. He posted a number of times i was a lair and in the end i blocked him. One evening weeks later, whilst replying on a post an unknown user started calling me a lair and using my real name.....it was obviously that person on an alt. acc. I was quite shaken. Admin acted quickly and he was unable to contact me again. He clearly wanted to paint me as a liar and influence the way others here thought about me.

@LadyGrace I am not saying you’re wrong to live that way but how do you go about suing somebody on this site for saying something that offends or slanders your name? Wouldn’t a block suffice?

Oh, I'm sure! 🤣😂🤣 A lot I think don't like me here, but that's to be expected anytime in life. And throughout life. That's not a problem. I'm just saying my reputation and integrity are important to ME. It's not about petty name calling or cursing here. I do MY best. Other's do not get to place a value on me...only I can do that, and if someone doesn't like me, that's their problem. Not mine. However, reputation is another matter and I don't think you're understanding because I just don't know how to explain the difference well enough to you. A reputation follows a person all their lives, and so it is vital to guard it. I have definitely realized the importance of a good reputation in character and work ethics, all my life. For example:
You want your personal or your companyreputationto have access to the best opportunities, and a badreputationcan prevent that. A greatreputationwill open doors to fantastic opportunities and if you're a business, unhindered access to your ideal client base. Yourreputationis the single-most important aspect of your business.
I am just seeing this. I think you are a very person here but not everybody may find you nice and in this site people are more than happy to talk and start rumors unfortunately.

@Keepitsimple You don't. And I guess that's ok here. I thought we had better rules here. And sure a block would suffice, but then there's still damages to my name, but I guess that's ok. I'm saying these type of posts that go beyond being silly or insulting, cursing, whatever, should not be allowed. I've taken tons here and no sweat. They're just words, but when it comes to defamation of character, that's a different ballgame. Maybe no one else cares about their reputation these days, but I do. That post should have been taken down 3 years ago.

As others have replied, I have been insulted, but I don't think I have been slandered. I don't think anybody has tried to spread false rumors about my behavior.
Once somebody posted something that implied something false about my motivations, but nobody who knows me believed him (and anyone else would have found the thread utterly forgettable) so I would say that was a "failed attempt" at slander.

@DrWatson Of course. That's not the problem. I fully realize that people know me better than that here, and if they don't, then that's too bad, but this was way different and out of line. Truly an attempt to destroy my reputation and though people know me here, the point is, this type of vicious attempt using my name, should never been allowed to be posted.

Not to my knowledge, as far as actual defamation of character. I wouldn't be surprised though, if someone has. There a few people here who I wouldn't put it past, that I know of from another site. I spoke up against their attempts to slander some others, so they despise me.

@SirBenedictTheSecond It's a real shame people do not understand, appreciate, or value the importance of a good reputation these days.
People want to make the best choice, and they base their selection on the person or company whose reputation seems to be superior. Whether applying for a job or attracting business opportunities,a good reputation affects your bottom line, and you carry it for life. It is very clear that reputation is extremely important and people who disregard it, are doing so at their own detriment.
