Has anyone slandered your name here?

@Keepitsimple It's not so funny though, when the statement is horrible. I'm not saying you thought it was. It is defamation of character, in my case. And it shouldn't have been allowed on here.

For those who may not know: Defamation(ofcharacter) n. the act of making untrue statements about another which damages his/her reputation. If thedefamatorystatement is printed or broadcast over the media it is libel and, if only oral, it is slander.

@LadyGrace I understand what you are saying but with all due respect I don’t care what people think of me here and I don’t care what they say. This is not the real me here. It’s an entertainment site, that’s all.

That’s what I mean..I have a few people who know me. Anything else is fun. I’m not here to make life long bud or sell my first born, or in my case, her first born 😉 It’s way to fickle and phony here to be on that level. @SW-User

@Keepitsimple I was raised that a person's reputation is everything. It follows you for life. I'm proud of my reputation. So it's important to me that it is not trashed or damaged. This IS the real me here.

@Keepitsimple There's a big difference between senseless idiots who love to troll, curse at people, or call them names. No big deal or problem at all. But it's something else and not innocent fun, when someone goes out of their way to cause severe harm to another person's reputation and character. That's viciousness. That's why we have lawsuits for that.

@LadyGrace I think that’s more for the real world though. If I’m slandered here it doesn’t matter. Are you talking about here because it would be easy for somebody to talk about me here because I’m not always honest with people here if I know I’m being messed with so people could call me a liar but it doesn’t matter here is all I’m saying. It doesn’t affect my real life.

@LadyGrace I am just seeing this. I think you are a very person here but not everybody may find you nice and in this site people are more than happy to talk and start rumors unfortunately.

@Keepitsimple I really think it matters everywhere. Even online. For me, anyway, I'm not worried about what others do. I imagine some don't care one way or the other here, but I do, when it comes to my reputation, because my word is my bond. I don't lie and that's important to me. If I say something anywhere...I tell the truth and people know that about me and value that about me. So that is very valuable and important to me and my integrity.

My father was a very honorable man. The most honorable man I've ever known. He never told a lie. People knew that and it was a very honorable position to be in. I'm honored to say I live the same.

@LadyGrace I am not saying you’re wrong to live that way but how do you go about suing somebody on this site for saying something that offends or slanders your name? Wouldn’t a block suffice?

Oh, I'm sure! 🤣😂🤣 A lot I think don't like me here, but that's to be expected anytime in life. And throughout life. That's not a problem. I'm just saying my reputation and integrity are important to ME. It's not about petty name calling or cursing here. I do MY best. Other's do not get to place a value on me...only I can do that, and if someone doesn't like me, that's their problem. Not mine. However, reputation is another matter and I don't think you're understanding because I just don't know how to explain the difference well enough to you. A reputation follows a person all their lives, and so it is vital to guard it. I have definitely realized the importance of a good reputation in character and work ethics, all my life. For example:

You want your personal or your companyreputationto have access to the best opportunities, and a badreputationcan prevent that. A greatreputationwill open doors to fantastic opportunities and if you're a business, unhindered access to your ideal client base. Yourreputationis the single-most important aspect of your business.

@Keepitsimple You don't. And I guess that's ok here. I thought we had better rules here. And sure a block would suffice, but then there's still damages to my name, but I guess that's ok. I'm saying these type of posts that go beyond being silly or insulting, cursing, whatever, should not be allowed. I've taken tons here and no sweat. They're just words, but when it comes to defamation of character, that's a different ballgame. Maybe no one else cares about their reputation these days, but I do. That post should have been taken down 3 years ago.
