What type of food?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Enkis I had this today for lunch. Without the lemon tho
Enkis · 26-30, M
@Elessar I like the little extra the lemon adds. It balances the oil and pepper
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Enkis I'm not a fan of acidic tastes and I never heard of it in aglio & olio but the fun think about food is experimenting (and 100% of the traditional recipes were born that way after all) 😌

You can get jars of pesto at Aldi stores very good price, boil some noodles or spaghetti and put a spoonful of that on them. If you have fresh basil, garlic and tomatoes they are good on pasta with olive oil and some grated cheese on top. Good summer dish.

Dewmsie I made this chili recipe last week & it turn out really good. Quick + easy (●’◡’●)ノ

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium yellow onion -diced
1 pound 90% lean ground beef
2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper* -optional
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 (15 oz.) can petite diced tomatoes
1 (16 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

1. Add the olive oil to a large soup pot and place it over medium-high heat for two minutes. Add the onion. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Add the ground beef to the pot. Break it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 6-7 minutes, until the beef is browned, stirring occasionally.

3. Add the chili powder, cumin, sugar, tomato paste, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional cayenne. Stir until well combined.

4. Add the broth, diced tomatoes (with their juice), drained beans, and tomato sauce. Stir well.

5. Bring the liquid to a low boil. Then, reduce the heat (low to medium-low) to gently simmer the chili, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Remove the pot from the heat. Let the chili rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

@Dewms sour cream is a popular topping but I don’t like it. Sliced scallions are good too
@SW-User oooooo not bread or rice???
SW-User
@Dewms i love me some bread so yes. I like cornbread with it. I haven’t had it with rice 🤔 but that sounds good.

Get some italian sausage (links are fine, usually cheap), a can of goya black beans, maybe some worchestershire sauce. Cut and remove the skin from two of the sausages, crumble and brown in a pan. Add beans, maybe sauce. Cook until done.

Boom, easy, filling, and quite tasty. Plus cheap.

Here's a super easy one I used to have my 12 year old son prepare for dinner when I was working about a block away.

French Bread Pizza

1 loaf French Bread
1 jar Marinara sauce
16 ounce bag shredded Mozzarella cheese
Additional toppings if desired.

Preheat oven to 350F. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray the foil with non stick cooking spray.

Slice a loaf of French Bread in half lengthwise. Slather it with Marinara sauce.
On the foil covered baking sheet, add the shredded cheese to both halves of the bread. If you have additional toppings such as pepperoni slices or green peppers or mushrooms or onions, place them on top of the cheese.

Bake for 15 minutes. uncovered.

Red lentils cooked till they’re mush. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic and onion powders, salt and pepper. Dump it on a tortilla. It’s a burrito.
I call this one ‘glass of water’...
Can of beans!
