im trying my best not to be sad

but im wondering if I should just let myself be sad? I kinda have this feeling like Im grasping for something, but the things I’m getting are not what I need. Like not having the correct size wrench for your bolt

My therapist once told me to let myself just sit in the sadness at times. Because sadness is a central human emotion and it doesn't always mean something is wrong or that it needs to be solved and fixed. Sometimes you just let it be. Emotions are often like weather, it comes and goes and sometimes there is very little you can do to change the immediate emotion you're feeling at the time.
