They always talk of Russian aggression. But maybe..

it is everyone else with tons of army bases and troops along their border that is provoking them to take such actions

I'm sorry but this is simply not the case, as much as I'd want it to be. This is coming from someone who lives right next to Russia, living in a Slavic society, full of both Russian and Western propaganda, thus I'd like to think I've had the chance to improve the skill of seeing through the lies of the media. These NATO bases were built here for a reason (they are newer bases, most of them weren't here before the Georgian invasion) - Russia has been much more aggressive lately. Numerous border disputes, crossing borders with military vehicles without permission (Swedish sea-borders breached by Russian submarines and so forth), soldiers all along their side of the border (I'm sure this is because the NATO countries have started gathering more soldiers along their borders as well, so this is kind of a two-way street), Georgian invasion (they just rolled into Georgia with their tank brigades and took over their capital for a few days, luckily a ceasefire was made a couple weeks later, so there weren't many casualties), supporting the rebels in the Ukraine (which was not, I repeat, WAS NOT started by the goddamn US/NATO, whatever some might spout. Sure, the EU sent humanitarian aid to the original protesters who wanted to get rid of the corrupted rule of Janukovic, but that does not mean they supported any terrorism, as far as we know. Who knows, they just might have, but there is no conclusive evidence. I am not on either side, the East is just as bad as West in the Ukraine conflicts now, as things are heating up day by day. But saying that Russia is innocent? Now that is an insult to every single Ukrainian), something which has very solid evidence of taking place. I don't blame them much, as the West has been doing such things in the Middle-East, thus making them just as bad.

This is what Russia's been doing just recently, mind you. Looking at their history, there are far too many crimes to count (but the same applies to the West). However, I do not like to think of our history with Russia, as they were different times. Sure, they committed atrocious deeds in many different countries that they occupied, but again, this is history. I want to move past that, but sadly this is very hard, seeing how Russia gets more militarized and prepares for war more and more. This might be because the Western world is doing the same, but at the moment we don't have anything concrete to base these speculations on. I agree wholeheartedly with Wraithorn on making good relations with Russia, however on one condition - they lose the aggressive stance. It has thrown the smaller countries near the Russian borders (the Baltic states, for example) into a constant fear, thus making them spend not only time, but many much-needed resources on military, instead of actually fixing their dwindling economies. This has to stop. And this mindset of Russia being a good little boy who hasn't done anything has to stop as well, as it simply is NOT true. Again, I would love to see a friendship blossom between Russia and the West, but I fear that either one could take a step that would lead to a major conflict.

Alright, sorry for this wall of text, I'm just really ticked off that it's still thought that Russia is the ''good side'' here. No. There is no good, no bad, only sides who are out for their own benefits (The West, East, Far-East and so forth).

Every country is out for themselves But I see what ya mean Russia is quite aggressive. It is always the lower class the working class that suffers in war and conflict
Moribund · 26-30, M
Indeed. I feel very sorry for anyone that still has to suffer from outright war in this day and age. We should've all moved past that, but it seems that there is no end to this in sight.

We love to think o that is past but it is alive and very well in modern world in fact it is kinda worse as they keep ya doped with media and misinformation. plus all the globalist and people sleeking to destroying the world it is hell
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
I think it's about time to stop fearing Russia as "the enemy" and to start co-operating instead. They have a helluva lot to offer the world if we just stop having these "my penis/missile/fighter jet/aircraft carrier is bigger than yours" competitions.

Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@WaterSpirit: Well I think that your average Russian just wants to have a decent life like the rest of us. It's the politicians who are being childish.
