Do you think it would be helpful for weight loss is someone degraded you everytime you thought about eating? I kinda want someone to do that to me

Like I want someone to call me fat, ugly, stupid, nobody will want you if you eat that. Maybe that kind of abuse will help me stop being tempted to eat past my calorie count

No - I think it would be very damaging.

I don't know how you've decided your calorie count or whether you have professional advice.

I like "The Fast 800" diet by Dr Michael Mosley
thefast800.com
It's based on the latest research in nutritional science.
It's fully tested with excellent results for. all kinds of people.
It has free access to a social site for fellow dieters giving each other support, extra recipes and tips.
It's based on moderation and adapts easily to your life.

I find the based way to deal with the desire to eat more than I should is to have a glass of water and then get working or busy. Distraction is the key.

I've been losing a kilo a week. I'm now at the upper limit of the normal weight for my height - but I'll keep going till I'm exactly in the middle of the healthy range. Then I'll drop from 2 to 1 day of fasting per week - for maintenance for the rest of my life.

I do find that moderate exercise helps (interval training, swimming and yoga)- not so much for the weight loss (the diet does that) - but for the added sense of well-being, energy, flexibility, and to reduce the risks of pulled muscles.

If my understanding is correct, you're already underweight.

I can see being brash with someone about weight loss if they are morbidly obese and health issues are looming on the horizon. Calling an emaciated person fat feeds into a warped idea of one's body image and enforces some pretty bad 'beauty' standards.

Maximizing one's health should be the goal, which will not occur if one is on either extreme of the weight spectrum.

@deadgerbil my bmi is 17.6 which isn't severely underweight yet.

@FutureIdol in what world does calling you fat make sense, then?

You'd want to distance yourself from whoever says that.

@deadgerbil In my world it makes sense because I live in a very warped world
