Have you tried to sit at the park and read a book and do some " people watching" for awhile? it helps.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Bberry we did some of that in May when we went to the lake 8 times that month, even not socializing with people it was fun to watch others, fishing, swimming, cruising the lake in their boats, etc.

I am an introvert, with tendencies toward extroversion at times...on my terms.

I was doing very well until I found that I might have cancer. That seemed to shake me up a bit too much, and all the horrifying news I hear now shakes me even further.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@4meAndyou oh no! 😘💖 May all the luck be with you!
4meAndyou · F
@MissNoahLenFoxx May all of your wishes come true! 😉
summersong · F
Some days it makes me crazy, others it’s pure bliss.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I’m an introvert but even so this is too much. I do like to get out and go places 2-3 times a week for a change of scenery. I’ve been averaging once every week-10 days to run errands and get groceries.
666Maggotz · F
This is how I chose to live my life anyway 🤷‍♀️ So it’s just business as usual. But I did recently start up soapmaking and learning pyrography. Maybe find a cool new hobby to occupy your mind.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@666Maggotz Yeh maybe a New hobby would be nice. I have piles of projects in line with my old hobbies... I’m just tired of feeling like it’s all a waste of time
StyleCat · M
I was born with the super power of Introversion. These days, it's incredibly useful
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
I'm an introvert, so chatting online, reading book, watching films and I'm okay most of the time. Occasional video calls can be uplifting. I imagine this is much harder for extroverts. I feel for you.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@PhilDeep *sigh* it’s a bit torchere like. What sucks most is that I’m starting to forget what life was like before/ a lot of my days are blending together; kinda freaks me out. So I try not to think about it too much, but still...Times are tough. I wish I was introverted so bad 👀
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
@MissNoahLenFoxx Maybe in a couple of years if the vaccines really work... I hope so.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@PhilDeep I hope the vaccines work sooner than that! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
i use my laptop to talk to my kids and sister.
What I miss most is dating. Not that I had much luck in that before, but there was always a chance I could meet someone any day. Now I know for sure I'll be alone for another year.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@NerdyPotato hmmm... that’s rough. Hugs! I don’t wish this isolation on anyone. Atleast you can have exciting daydreams about how you’re going to meet someone special. You could always try a dating app, even though it’s not the same as meeting someone in person. ❤️
Iwillwait · M
I am losing my mind. Lol! No, not really. I am actually becoming quite pleased with the serenity.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@Iwillwait Don’t you feel like you’ve wasted so much life-time? I think that’s what bothers me the most. It’s hard to relax when it all feels wasted.
Iwillwait · M
@MissNoahLenFoxx I understand your POV but truly, I measure all time spent in a "Normal pre-2020 time," and the waste is more for me, in lines, unnecessary traveling etc. I was blessed to be working through the Pandemic and really only miss the "Freedom of travel," which resulted in me not seeing family (that was the loss for me) otherwise I prefer the social distancing and hygiene/sanitizing practices that have now been fostered out of all this madness. My life essentially improved in that manner. I am OCD and suffer in most public situations where as now, my life improved. Strange huh?
ABCDEF7 · M

Try to get comfortable with your inner self. It can make you feel peaceful and extreme blissful.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
That's how introverts feel the rest of the time. This is a nice change.
Magenta · F
I'm not inside or alone all the time.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 31-35, M
I still go out and hang out with friends but we do take precautions. I'm not gonna stay locked up inside my house forever doing nothing. I get that covid is serious, but I'm not gonna live in fear for the rest of my life, either.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I don't mind being alone that much but not being able to go out drives me crazy.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
Definitely. @CrazyMusicLover
HannibalMontanimal · 26-30, M
Ok perfectly okay with it. I spend most of my time at work so it doesn't really effect me.
SW-User
It doesn't bother me that much. Just miss family.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@SW-User does it not bother you because you know it will be over soon?
SW-User
I have no idea when it will be over but I adapted to it.@MissNoahLenFoxx
Moonpenny · F
It's fine. Just have loads of stuff to do...
Honestly, its not bad at all
SW-User
Easy not much changed lol 😆
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
Playing PUBG and killing whoever dares to come near.
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
@Iwillwait How does it sound balanced?
Iwillwait · M
@YMITheWayIM Killing everyone that comes close to you, I was being facetious.
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
@Iwillwait I was typing about the game and not real life.
SW-User
I haven't adjusted very well. I was used to being out all the time, seeing all different people and places.

I've had to go back to my old stoic philosophy books, to find the wisdom to help me endure a very difficult time.
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@SW-User yeh. I’ll have moments where I’m fine, but I miss people. I miss people around me being happy too. I’ve come up with a daily routine sorta and that helps but I still will get upset. Not having a job, not being able to travel, and not having friends around is upsetting. What is a good philosophy to keep in mind from one of your books?
SW-User
@MissNoahLenFoxx Well it's hard to properly explain it in a short comment. The easiest way I can think is to give you a quote from Epictetus.

"There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will."
MissNoahLenFoxx · 31-35, F
@SW-User ooo good point; it is beyond the power of our will... Thanks!
