Have you ever caught yourself feeling like you were on the “outside” looking in on yourself, But instead of the “outside” being

Out of you, it’s like “outside but deep somewhere inside your head”. It’s only happened a few times in my lifetime, and it freaks me out. It’s happened like just before falling asleep. Or once when I was younger in college I was really high. Another time I can recall is when I got hit on the head with a wood board by accident. For a moment it just feels like I’m somewhere deep inside my head but it feels removed as if I’m”outside” of myself... luckily after those few times, as soon as I start to panic, the world goes “back to normal”. Has this happened to you? What/ why does this happen? It doesn’t mean death does it!?

Yeah. It's called derealization. It happens because of stress or while going to sleep. Associated with anxiety and some other conditions too. A few times in your lifetime is totally normal if you don't have other symptoms

Maybe it is sleep paralysis.
Yes, it happened in my teen's years.
Depesonalization can happen with too much stress, sleeplessness, cannabis or psychosis.

Usually very temporary

but notice how you see reality that way and try to use it in your life.

Our ego is not normal but we act like its essential...and depersonalization teaches us that ego is not reality but it can prevent us from even noticing much of it!!
