Back in school, did you ever think it was unfair to be graded on how we did in Art, Music, or P.E.?

Not everyone is physically strong, not everyone has a singing voice, and not everyone has artistic talent

Good point I never understood how the grading worked. I failed every art exam and in music I didn’t do very either , I don’t know why , they didn’t really say I know some people was like A students and didn’t even play anything or sung anything just messed around all lesson. in pe I didn’t care if I did well or not , some girls just didn’t do hardy anything yet they got good Grades for pe so weird. I went onto studying art at college and I sold art yet at school they didn’t like my work. I knew A level students in college who failed every art exam At school.

I loved art and music but being overweight as a kid, I didn't like physical education that much except when we played soccer or had sports day.

No because all those things were about effort

I guess it depended on the teacher

The first time my parents ever beat me silly for my grades I was in fifth grade and got a C in recess. I don't know how you get bad grades in recess.

@swandfriends I don't think it even occurred to them to ask the teacher why she did that. They were always looking for an excuse to punish.

It seems to me that in those classes you are graded on effort rather than on proficiency. It's obvious that some will be more talented, but you're being asked to try.

No, these are testable subject areas just in the same way as mathematics or literature are. Anyone can improve their knowledge or ability in any subject through working at it.

{@swandfriend] well you could say that about any school subject some you are really good at some you are not

Yes but that's how things go. What type of grade do you think I'd get 4 this?

I'd say if it was in school, you would have got a good grade on that. I was just thinking about how I didn't know how to draw really well until I had this one high school teacher. But before I learned. She gave me points off a first picture I drew because it wasn't that good and wasn't shaded. And there are some people that didn't pick up on it that well, it's just not them. So that's what prompted me to ask thus question lol
That’s like being downgraded in math and “not everyone intelligent”
Didn’t happen here.If it did I’d have failed.Hopeless at all of those.
