I've been car searching and many car salesmen have tried at intimidating me...but I've just finally made up my mind I'm not going to be intimidated when haggling a price, or the final payment too... Sometimes they want to upsell you warranties. I'm going to be brave from now on and say NO if need be and stop feeling small. And hopefully soon have a nicer car too🌿🙂

@Coralmist I LIKE THAT! The determination! If there’s a specific care you want search the base value of it and tell the salesman your aware if it’s retail price so your will to do a FAIR negation! And what kind of car are you looking to get? Something luxurious, something cheap yet reliable, something sporty? All good news!

@Mcduck8982 Looking at something like an economical small four door sedan..some dealers don't care that I shared the true fair price, I think they thought oh she's a woman, and still wouldn't haggle with me. But I'm determined to do this and not be intimidated. That just brought to mind my professor years ago..he had been an Army vet and came up to me and started shouting at me in front of the class, "Are you intimidated by me??!!" And I was like." Umm.no??" I washed sure really. He replied " Good!! NEVER be intimidated." I think I need to remember that.

@Coralmist see I’m nobody to give a professor advice but if your looking for brandnew Toyota’s are good I hear cause you can replace the parts easy and got a good road rating. If your okay with used I’d inquire on all your social media because maybe one of your friends has what your looking for but put all the work into it! And I’m proud you stood your ground! And never be intimidated! If you can break a test no sweat than you can face a sales lab who’s IQ is lower than the averages so he relays in charm. Nah go for a bargain but make sure it’s what you like and can see yourself driving/getting the most use of!

@Mcduck8982 Thanks mcduck 🌻🙂Good idea, may check social media as well for anyone I know who could be selling, thanks!

@Coralmist if you’re into new off the lot than she can he pricey but don’t let their charm derive the true value of what your buying. Remember if it’s commission based they are always gonna try to UPSELL WITH “lower prices” and gaurneteed warranties you don’t need! But maybe someone you know has something in your price range and someone you trust so you know they aren’t selling you a lemon! Check kimono and Facebook marketplace frequently for up and coming deals you may take interest in. A lot of the price varies not only on the car but the miles travelled. You could have a Lamborghini that will break down cause of all the miles. So if google or ask some friend about good deals. If there’s a nice car but if has a lot of km than you risk a lot of problems. But use that to your advantage to talk the salesman down!

@Mcduck8982 Thanks!! Yes I want UNDER 75k miles. I'll stand my ground and decline extra warranties. I even just posted at social media if anyone wants know is selling...ty again! 🐞🌼

@Coralmist Warranties are not often a good idea for a couple reasons -

If it were something likely to screw up, they would not offer a warranty.
Just like I have mentioned a few times - look on the car complaints website to get an idea if it's gonna screw up soon or not.
Of course some problems like "Excessive oil consumption" (common on Toyota and Honda) are just minor annoyances. Just add oil when needed.
Others, like cars with a bunch of engine or transmission problems, are a "no".

Also, sometimes warranties have exclusions that only an attorney or mechanic would understand.

IF you are looking at a particular model and do not feel comfortable deciphering what is on car complaints, feel free to private message and I will look it up and translate into plain english.
