My dad said he’s getting tired of working? Is that normal?

My dad is about to be 65 next year. He’s 6 years away from being 70.
My dad said he’s getting tired of working. Wasn’t he the one that encouraged us to get our butts up and get a job? My dad flat out told me he was sick and tired of me looking for volunteers jobs and get a job that pays me and he doesn’t wanna hear that volunteer shit anymore. He doesn’t think it’s bad to volunteer but he said it will not get me anywhere during life. Anyways why is he getting tired of working? He said he’s been working since he was 13 (1969). 13 is very young.

@Pretzel Why? My dad used to be able to do a lot. He keeps saying he’s tired.

@LaylaTheTallGirl When you get his age you will know exactly what he meant.

@thephoenix That’s what he told me. My grandma told me I NEED to understand that my dad isn’t that young man he used I be and I need to stay in the present because I’m alway looking at the past and I need to come on now, get with the program and I’m not getting it or seeing it. My grandma hasn’t worked since she was 71. She’s 94 now. She hasn’t worked for 23 years. She retired before I was even born.

@LaylaTheTallGirl You will start to get it when you hit 40. Age-wise you will be at the top of the hill. After that, your body will begin to decline, and the years will seem to go by faster and faster. In all probably you will become a mother, then a grandmother. As the years go by you will know exactly what your father meant. For now, just enjoy your youth you won't be young forever.
