Is it offensive to wear rosary if you aren’t catholic

This sounds wild but I know someone did some black magic on me because bad luck event after event after event was happening to me. And I stopped and thought to myself this is no coincidence. I had my cards read and what I feared was confirmed that yes someone indeed had done black magic on me. They were doing something to hurt my finances (which is what was happening.) and they were trying to disturb my emotional well being which was what was also having. The psychic even said they were messing with my dreams. Which is also true because I have been having night terrors every single night since September the nightmares involve me running away and it’s always an apocalyptic setting.
I saw some old rosary around my bed that were gifted to me and I thought protection!!!! I put them on and ever since none of the bad luck entails anymore

Except the one day I took them off since all the craziness has been happening. this drunk guy literally ran in front of my car while I was on the way to work and tried to act like I hit him. I called the police and he actually ended up running off but I was reading how it’s offensive to wear rosary and all this other stuff

What are you HONEST opinions? You cant hurt my feelings

I don't think many Catholics tend to wear the Rosary (we might wear other things, like a crucifix, the Miraculous Medal or other medals, or scapulas [two very small joined bits of cloth that are like a scaled-down version of monastic habits]). Some monks/nuns of some religious orders, such as the Dominicans, wear a rosary as part of their usual dress, but often at the waist not round the neck.

Personally I don't think it's offensive, unless it's just as a kind of fashion statement (which clearly isn't the case for you!).

If it helps, Domincians who wear the rosary at their waist, do so at the left side. This is because traditionally the left side of the body is where one would wear a sword. So by implication, Dominicans appear to believe that they have no need of swords, because their weapon instead is the Holy Rosary. (How much mightier are the prayers of the Mother of God than a piece of steel!). So in a way, you are wearing your rosary just as a Dominican friar or nun would. And it is well attested through the writings of many saints, and even recorded apparitions of Our Lady, that the rosary is indeed a weapon against evil.

But I would say, don't just wear it, but pray it too.

https://www.rosarycenter.org/homepage-2/rosary/how-to-pray-the-rosary/ is a great resource with all the prayers, explaining each part of the sequence of prayers and the 'mysteries' (episodes of the life of Christ associated with the sets of prayers).

(I apologise if you have a Catholic background in which case you probably know a good deal about it anyway lol)

@Persephonee thank you for taking the time to share that with me. It was very insightful and I actually think I will start wearing mine at the waist too 😄❤️

@Persephonee I grew up Baptist but I don’t want to say I belong to a denomination I rather say I have a relationship with God. I pray and read King James Version 🤔 I think denomination is divisive

@DeluxedEdition Now isn't the time to write stuff about the Catholic Church being there before there were denominations lol. (Though, feel free to PM me about anything!).

But I do invite you to pray the Rosary a few times, see how it feels and moves you. The saints - especially the Blessed Virgin Mary - are there for everyone, not just Catholics & Orthodox. God bless you x
