Is it offensive to wear rosary if you aren’t catholic

This sounds wild but I know someone did some black magic on me because bad luck event after event after event was happening to me. And I stopped and thought to myself this is no coincidence. I had my cards read and what I feared was confirmed that yes someone indeed had done black magic on me. They were doing something to hurt my finances (which is what was happening.) and they were trying to disturb my emotional well being which was what was also having. The psychic even said they were messing with my dreams. Which is also true because I have been having night terrors every single night since September the nightmares involve me running away and it’s always an apocalyptic setting.
I saw some old rosary around my bed that were gifted to me and I thought protection!!!! I put them on and ever since none of the bad luck entails anymore

Except the one day I took them off since all the craziness has been happening. this drunk guy literally ran in front of my car while I was on the way to work and tried to act like I hit him. I called the police and he actually ended up running off but I was reading how it’s offensive to wear rosary and all this other stuff

What are you HONEST opinions? You cant hurt my feelings

I don't think many Catholics tend to wear the Rosary (we might wear other things, like a crucifix, the Miraculous Medal or other medals, or scapulas [two very small joined bits of cloth that are like a scaled-down version of monastic habits]). Some monks/nuns of some religious orders, such as the Dominicans, wear a rosary as part of their usual dress, but often at the waist not round the neck.

Personally I don't think it's offensive, unless it's just as a kind of fashion statement (which clearly isn't the case for you!).

If it helps, Domincians who wear the rosary at their waist, do so at the left side. This is because traditionally the left side of the body is where one would wear a sword. So by implication, Dominicans appear to believe that they have no need of swords, because their weapon instead is the Holy Rosary. (How much mightier are the prayers of the Mother of God than a piece of steel!). So in a way, you are wearing your rosary just as a Dominican friar or nun would. And it is well attested through the writings of many saints, and even recorded apparitions of Our Lady, that the rosary is indeed a weapon against evil.

But I would say, don't just wear it, but pray it too.

https://www.rosarycenter.org/homepage-2/rosary/how-to-pray-the-rosary/ is a great resource with all the prayers, explaining each part of the sequence of prayers and the 'mysteries' (episodes of the life of Christ associated with the sets of prayers).

(I apologise if you have a Catholic background in which case you probably know a good deal about it anyway lol)

@Persephonee thank you for taking the time to share that with me. It was very insightful and I actually think I will start wearing mine at the waist too 😄❤️

@Persephonee I grew up Baptist but I don’t want to say I belong to a denomination I rather say I have a relationship with God. I pray and read King James Version 🤔 I think denomination is divisive

@DeluxedEdition Now isn't the time to write stuff about the Catholic Church being there before there were denominations lol. (Though, feel free to PM me about anything!).

But I do invite you to pray the Rosary a few times, see how it feels and moves you. The saints - especially the Blessed Virgin Mary - are there for everyone, not just Catholics & Orthodox. God bless you x

If you are interested in the protection Jesus has to offer then I normally go to prayer or read the Holy Bible. If you were raised Catholic and the Rosary was a past refuge that helped you concentrate in prayer then go for it otherwise the Rosary is not a magic protection.

It is faith that protects people. The rosary isn't different than any other ornament on its own.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
I pray about it and do have faith but I think my fear gets in the way @SweetMae
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@DeluxedEdition Then use the rosary beads to calm you down and help you pray the way you want to. I will be praying for you too. 🙏

@SweetMae Please do it would be greatly appropriated ❤️

I am Catholic and have heard what you say about wearing crosses or in this case a rosary may be offensive. The ones that say that to me are being judgemental on who can and who can't. I take no offense at all and in truth see that as a plus and personal choice of the person wearing it.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
You need to put them back on regardless if someone is offended before something else bad happens they will protect you.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Subsumedpat thank you so much 📿😭 I swear I feel so safe with them and the nightmares and everything has stopped like why would I want to take them off??? The ones I have were blessed by a missionary African woman who had a very hard life. She prayed over them four hours a day and did a lot of miraculous works in her life. I feel honored to even have them

@Subsumedpat And know this post was a little out there thanks for not thinking I’m crazy and being open minded
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@DeluxedEdition Facts are facts, look at how things changed when you started wearing them.
It's your right to wear the rosary beads, and BTW I see many people wearing them. And DO NOT let others tell you that you can't or shouldn't wear something you believe in (in this case a religious symbol)

Go ahead, it’s fine.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Catholics don’t even wear rosaries. They’re prayer beads.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Flenflyys I see lots of people wear them 🤔
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
To me it’s not. You are free to wear what you want.
