Sadly, yes.
Not that she was deliberately doing anything to repulse me.
Rather, over a period of twenty years, I learned that her particular spiritual path, The Course in Miracles, was actually helping her to stay stuck in her emotional problems and helping to make them worse.
It reached a point where I could no longer bear her complaining monologues about her life and her lack of interest in anything outside her own existence.
She was a clinger like a Strangler Fig. It was not an easy break. I had to call tell her how I felt. She was so hurt and angry that it was a very nasty end.
I blame myself that I did not interrupt to voice my feelings and thoughts from the beginning.
