@PiecingBabyFaceTogether She’s Indian American and African American (that’s how she identifies herself—her father is black). And she’s from the Bay Area. We’re very proud of her. 😳

@bijouxbroussard she went to high school in 🇨🇦 so we will claim credit for her formative years.
@bijouxbroussard Ok Jamaican yea, I didn't know that and it wasn't easy finding her dad's name on Wikipedia. She seems lovely. Next I want to see you guys having first African American woman as president.
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether You do know how blacks came to be in Jamaica ? The same Transatlantic slave trade that brought Africans to the Americas—North and South America, brought them to the Caribbean. And like I said, she’s identified herself in that way, which is her right.
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether African Americans come in all colors. There is no one look. No one skin color. She is half Indian but she still identfies as both black and Indian.
None of these people past or present look the same. All are African American.
@bijouxbroussard I actually realized that a bit later but I was just confused I think because for example there's black Hispanics or Arabs who are just cacausian so it all got mixed up. We're all the same anyway I don't really care about such things there's only humanity period. Thanks for your patience with me 😁
