Is it true that tobacco companies use their profits

I almost lost my mouthful when I read this. Yes, I’m sure they give a teeny, tiny amount to cancer research, just like pharma companies divert 80% of their profits into R&D (as though they should be congratulated on coming up on new ways to make money 🙄)
