Dog lovers, I have a question about canine behaviour. If a dog decided to join two friendly strangers on a walk, is there a limit to how far the dog

would walk with them before heading back. Would a dog head that was walking with people just head back cos it got bored or wanted to? Or felt it was going in an unfamiliar location or too far? Or would something have to happen for a dog to run back home?

Depends on the dog, the dogs owner, the strangers, and how much food they have.
It depends. Some dogs will get bored and go home eventually. But if there was something that attracted the dog to the walkers in particular, then it may not. Or, it might be a stray and not have a home. Or it might not know how to get home.

So, there's really no knowing for sure and it would probably depend on the dog and its circumstances.
My dog wouldn't do that. He would be too timid and stay by my feet.

If they have food say goodbye to the dog lol 😁😁

If a dog ever does that it means he's not happy being at home. My dog would never do that.

@SW-User interesting, the dog was a 'restaurant dog' in Panama....
