Tips on how to unclog a toilet? 😭

Got home to my sister crying on the floor after blocking my bathroom toilet and flooding the floor. 😫😫
I'm going to buy a plunger tomorrow as there's no shops open. And I've tried using dish washing liquid and baking soda and vinegar but nothing worked 😓 I really hope the plunger works cause I don't want to call a plumber.

If you can get one you need a toilet snake . It’s a wonderful tool . You tube it , they cost about 25 bucks. A plumber is $250

@ChemDawg yep? I have used it many times . Have one at home and here at the farm
if it's not completely clogged, hot water can help dislog a clog. the hanger mentioned is a viable trick. plunger is usually your best first option

@stound now I'll need to look up how to use a plunger 😅
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@stound This! Hot water worked for me also!
@SeductiveCactus it's pretty straight forward. sometimes it's better to compress the plunger to the side and pull up to create a backflow, pulling the clog back up the line a little to let water was around it and reduce its size. there are also toilet safe caustic chemicals (stuff like liquid plumber) that can work, but you need to make sure they're toilet safe before you deploy them.
Yeah I was going to go with plunger. Maybe if you stretch out one of those wire coat hangers?

@MrBlueGuy Yes, I had to use a coat hanger once and it worked. But get the plunger and keep it handy.

If the plunger don’t work then you’ve got a problem. You may have to remove the toilet and see what’s blocking it. Plunge the hell out of it first

@Jonjdw lovely 😭 fingers crossed the plunger works then.

If you have an old fashioned rag mop, perfect toilet plunger, it's an old trick
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F
@ozgirl512 noooo I threw it out a couple weeks ago 😭
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@SeductiveCactus that's the way these things normally happen lol

So this actually happens. 😫 It's a common theme of my nightmares but I haven't seen it in real life yet.
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F
@CrazyMusicLover you're lucky!
Crying on the floor? Cause she did a big poo? Haha what
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F

@SW-User She clogged the toilet, she's not having an abortion
@MartinTheFirst you dont know what she clogged it with...
Tennessean way, use you hands.

Get a garden hose, stand a few feet away and open the water fully, let the water arch into the toilet bowl, that usually works.
Hot water, boil water in a pot and pour it into the loo
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F
@Strawberrry I don't think youre meant to pour boiled water into the toilet.
@SeductiveCactus hmm.. always worked when i clogged our toilet
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Strawberrry if there's plastic fittings perhaps they will warp

Force it thru with a medium sized towel plumber done it for us once
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
😳.. If you can see the paper than usually a stick to poke it and break it apart works.
SeductiveCactus · 26-30, F
@MartinTheFirst haha I don't see anything but clean water.
