I don’t think depression and anxiety are mental illnesses...

I believe they are problems of living and coping with trauma...a normal reaction to childhood abuse and neglect. Simple lifestyle changes and CBT will work. Calling it mental illness is stigmatizing and disempowering.

There is no normal reaction to abuse or neglect .It affects everyone differently. Changing lifestyle won't heal the scars left by either one.
