Thank God! I think it came to a head and drained a little. That sounds gross, but I'm happy.

The abscess on my cat seems to be getting smaller, she's eating now, and she's letting me touch her. She is not in as much pain. After she settles down a bit more I'll wrap her up and look again. I plan to shave that spot, hopefully it will clean out easily, I'm thinking it might be a cactus needle that broke off under the skin.
At first I thought it was just a bee sting or something, but it got HUGE!

Where is the abscess?
@hippyjoe1955 On the side of her neck, just below the jawline but back a little.

@UnderLockDown Do you have any iodine?

@UnderLockDown Try applying it to the abscess. It is a very effective in dealing with abscesses.

@hippyjoe1955 I suspect he has a 'sliver'/thorn under the skin.
@hippyjoe1955 Thank you, good to know. I appreciate any help at this point, I've been stressed out about this all day trying to find a way to fix it.

@UnderLockDown Yeah it can be stressful for you and the cat. I grew up on a farm and ran into abscesses fairly often. Rarely fatal but painful for the animal and it doesn't want you touching the sore spot.
