If someone is rude to you, would you be rude back? And why?

Why can’t people just be nice and stop this rudeness?
Some people thought I was rude so they got rude to me back. Even kind hearted people have showed their “mean” side. That’s rude. My best friend doesn’t take crap from rudeness. She’s a kind person, but if someone is rude to her then she’ll be rude back. She believes in giving someone a taste of their own medicine...sometimes.

I am rude back if someone is rude to me.. I just have that in me.. people think I am nice, kind, caring and would do anything to help, and i AM but some people see that as a sign they can take advantage.. and treat me badly.. they soon find out they are wrong!
Other people are rude because they think most people won't answer back, they will be hurt, shocked, intimidated.. well so I don't intimidate easily, so I bite back.. someone's gotta tell them!

But in your case.. it seems you didn't actually mean to be rude, I would hope in that kind of case I'd try to find out what you really meant.. before unleashing rudeness back.. so perhaps those people were too hasty
