@JovialPlutonian Except there is a stark difference between surrendering and not wanting to enter a lose-for-everyone scenario. Especially when such scenario most likely won't solve the issue, only worsen it or even extend it to other areas.

@JovialPlutonian I oppose the Chinese regime as much as you do, I just don't agree on suicidal proposals to counter it, so don't make absurd implications about my stance.

World wars aren't something you want to start on [i]feelings[/i], without any strategical planning whatsoever or even a joint and coordinated effort (at the very least with other western countries such as the one where I'm writing from), at the present time with near zero chances of winning, as China isn't Iraq or Syria: we're speaking of a technologically advanced, wealthy, heavily industrial, militarily advanced, industrial and technological superpower, with a population that is >130% the U.S. and the entirety of Europe *combined*, and on which we also depend on industrially/economically. At [i]best [/i]we'd annihilate each other, at worst they'll first kick our asses and then take over HK and Taiwan still, and potentially many other areas, facing even less resistance than they'd be facing now. Without even mentioning Russians that will just need to sit still and wait for their main two contenders take each other out of the geopolitical scene.

@Elessar reality is hardly absurd but you can continue to believe that we should cater to our enemies, no wonder we are slaves to their demands. Suicide is not so unreasonable if it means your ppl won’t continue to be slaves.

@JovialPlutonian Suicide to the sole advantage of the oppressor isn't in any way reasonable. As I said, geopolitics is a complicate matter and having emotional reactions will only make things (much) worse than they already are, and not only for HKers.
