Do straight women ever dance with each other?

Like instead of a girl and guy, it's a girl and girl.

Of course. I’m a social dancer who dances mostly swing, blues, zouk, and contra, and same-sex dance partners are not only common but encouraged in our community. Not only does it encourage dancing as a fun and platonic activity, but it also helps for men to know how to follow and women to know how to lead. As a man, I like knowing how to follow because that way, when I dance as a lead with a woman, I can better understand her role in the dance. It’s also helpful when I go to a dance event, and there are way too many dudes there. Every lady might already be dancing due to the mismatched ratio, so rather than just sitting out every dance, I can just dance with a guy.

@RopinTexan i've always wannwanted to learn to swing dance, how long did it take to learn?

@SoulAsylum That’s a hard question to answer. Firstly, there are many different swing dance styles. East coast, west coast, lindy hop, balboa, Charleston, etc. Also, you’re always learning. I’ve been doing it for ten years and still have much to learn.
