Do you believe in self diagnosis of a mental illness? And explain why or why not?

No, people train for years and still must follow the parameters set in the DSM. And even then, a multidisciplinary team is advised. The average person just doesn't posses the ability to do so correctly.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'm a psych RN and never saw any physicians go rogue. If they were to, and some must, that's malpractice.

Maybe where you work, but it happens every day, and in small ways. I know someone that just ended a relationship with their psychologist because the psychologist started interjecting her personal life into his therapy.

That's really messed up. Are you sure they are a psychologist though? Because anyone can call themselves a therapist.
