Copper is an element, a pure metal. Pewter is an alloy, a mixture of tin and lead, or tin, copper and antimony.

Thank you! What's an element? And what's an alloy?

@Elina15: alloy is two metals mixed together. Element is like a pure bred dog. It is what it is.

@Elina15: An alloy is a mixture of two or more metals. An element is a single chemical substance that isn't a combination of other elements e.g. oxygen, hydrogen, copper
