Did you have diverse friends when you were growing up?

I had a huge ethnic variety in my friend group when I was younger (and still do, tbh, but am old enough to recognize that now). But when I was younger, I didn't realize that we came from different cultures and had some... Differences lol. My best friend of like sixteen years is white. Straight, thin, blonde hair. And when I was maybe five she came over for a sleepover and I was like "hey, let's do eachother's hair". So she put mine up, no problem. But I didn't realize a white person's straight, thin hair is different and my dumb ass SLATHERED the poor girl in grease 馃槶馃槶馃槶 our parents will still bring it up all the time. I can't do a damn thing with that girl without being reminded to not put grease in her hair. Rip 馃拃

I started having a diverse circle of friends from 12 and onwards, white, black (African & Jamaican), Filipino, Pakistani and Bengali.

There's not much diversity in my area unfortunately, but I got about diverse as possible, and like you, didn't notice until I was older.

Lol that's a fun memory I bet.
I've always had a group of friends who have been very diverse.

I grew up with a pretty diverse group, but, they all seemed to be there for a while and then gone, they were all transients. I grew up in WV and the area was pretty depressed when I was a kid, people would come and work for a year or two and then move on.
