What do I even say to my therapist once I get there? How do I approach the situation?

There are so many things wrong with me man..it ain't even funny. I just wouldn't know where to start.

I used to just pick one that hurt the most and let the ball rolling from there.

@thiccchungles the biggest issue first.
Mine made me write out every traumatic thing that had happened to me at the start. Was the hardest 2000 words I've ever had to write but I made sure to keep a copy. So now I never have to say it again I can just hand over paper...

Anyhow they tend to want the whole deal so they'll sort out whats important. Good luck.

As some of the things are more then likely connected, for the first meeting just discuss how you feel overall, why you are going and what you would like help with. In the first meeting the therapist will want to get an overall view of you and may offer an idea where to start

I think you have nothing to worry about in that regard. If your therapist has any experience or has ever read a book on psychology then they will know how to help you with that.
Just tell then what you said here.
If I was a therapist I might start by saying,"Tell me about your mother. Anything about her."
It can depend on how comfortable you feel with them, take it at your own pace, a good therapist will also help you feel at ease

They will help you find a place to start. Be patient with yourself.
