Not really. Think of Bosch or Dechampe or Bacon. Disturbing, messy images but thought provoking.

i went to Athens recently. Many buildings were covered with graffiti as were some cars even. Most of it looked nasty and really ran the city down. Certainly it can be expressive and inspiring (e.g. Banksy) but what I saw in Athens cant be that nice for residents who live there.

How can you say, “Its art and i think its beautiful”?
I agree that graffiti can be art and it can be beautiful but most of the graffiti I have seen was neither art nor beautiful. Just like a painting made with a painting brush and on a canvas far from always is art there is no guarantee that using spray paint on a wall result in a piece of art.
