How do you get to know people who never post?

Sometimes I look in the explore people list and see someone whose profile looks interesting but then I see they have no posts and I don't know if its ok to message them. I think probably not because they would post if they want to talk? But then I wonder why they come here at all?

I'd be leery of talking to someone who has posted nothing at all. You're right to wonder why they're here, although I suppose you could talk to them about that.
