What would be your response to: "you're a little more successful than I expected you to be"

I always try to exceed expectations!

Jesus that would leave me scowling. I don't know how I would respond to that. I usually just nod and smile and say thank you to pretend I didn't even understand what they're trying to say.

It’s a back handed compliment. My response would depend on who said it, and whether I thought it was an innocent remark or not.

That is a very tacky statement. Try this-"Thank you. I didn't expect that level of kindness."

actually happened... i returned with looking her up and down and said "some thing are consistent tho..."

Make sure that all my valuables are secure on my person and seek out the closest exit. Nothing good can come from that comment.

I would laugh and be thankful that I'm not limited by their expectations.
