@Unlearn Oui - openly. Ive seen it directly. For a movement that encourages "free voice", there certainly is a lot of censorship. It amuses me the irony is lost.

@HeteroDox But there is a difference between "Free Speech" and "Freedom of Speech" the first one means the desire to be able to say whatever you want to whoever you want without consequences, no matter how harmful or hateful the words are. The second allows you to express your opinion with some restrictions as pertains to hateful or harmful speech. Conservatives need to be careful and distance themselves from the Neo Nazi's and White Supremacists lest they be bundled in with them...

@spjennifer Except that as a conservatve no to mention with an adult i can recognize a fearful label when i see one and doesn't frighten me at all. Free speech is the ability to self censor, not to cowtow to what certain persons think of it. I think neo nazi and communists and LGBT should be free to say as they want. If you as a mature adult arent mature enough to judge for yourself, then thats on you, but no one owes you anything to self censor. You're free to express your sexual proclivities on this site are you not? Do you openly admit to the in your real life? Because i decide not to profess mine, does that make me entitled?

@HeteroDox Yes but what you don't seem to realize is that protections are not put in place to censure common sense debate but to protect those who are unable, unlike you, to defend themselves. If you were to call someone an effin N word for long enough, it does have an impact or stupid f&g or goddamned m*zzie. Those ARE words that are intended to be hurtful and harmful to more than just one individual and should be censored. I certainly am and am also quite capable of defending myself and my so-called "proclivities" and also place "Adult" labels on anything anyone below the age of consent shouldn't see, gee there's that common sense again...

@spjennifer And people as you are there to make sure anything you dont want to hear is censored, oui. People give power to words all the time. Some of us have thicker skins.

@HeteroDox You are very mistaken, non, I'm not at all the type to create censorship, in fact I've served long and hard to defend the rights we do have, but I have also served in nations where those types of protections don't exist and have seen the results of unbridled anarchy and hatred, trust me, it isn't pretty and while you as an individual may well have a thicker skin, as do I, there are many who don't...

@spjennifer Oui... if you are a ervioce member, respect - i am retired as well - but if you truly believed this you would stand for any person who cant defend themselves if yu took the same oeth i did. Id much rather have the neo nazis out parading in public than scurrying around in their ratholes where they can be seen

@HeteroDox Yes, 35+ years of service and I would stand up for the rights of anyone unable to defend themselves and have for my entire life and would have willingly given my life if it meant saving the life of another.
