Is vegan short crust pastry good? I bought a pie case and just realised I got the vegan one instead of the normal.

I'm still gonna use it, cause I ain't about that wasteful life. I was just wondering if it's good compared to normal ones haha. I tried googling but all that come up were recipes 🤷‍♀️

I'm not a master baker. They probably just substituted the butter with some oil. 🤷‍♂️ Almost the same thing.

It won't be [i]objectively[/i] "better" or "worse".

It can only be a matter of taste, literally, so cook it and eat it, to find out whether you like it or not.

Chances are you won't notice the difference because pastry has such a light flavour anyway it's masked by the pie filling.

BTW I am not a vegan or vegetarian. I do eat vegetarian foods occasionally for variety, but I am not going to obey a few noisy vegans!
