I can't make up my mind if it would be a good thing to reintroduce caning or not. I can't see the present generation accepting corporal punishment the way we did

@Lacylin Yes, talking to a real former headmaster, now in his early 90s, one of the main things he marvelled at looking back was how a big teenage girl might still submissively assist in her own punishment, e.g. fetch the cane, move the chair to the perfect position, etc. And even apologise for her fault/crime after being beaten. Gone are those days!

@Lacylin My younger sister and I were caned at our respective schools in the mid to late 1970s. Looking back on it, I think our cooperation probably stemmed partly from a certain pride and solidarity with other pupils who were caned and partly from the knowledge that a failure to cooperate would find its way back to our parents and result in a sounder beating from Dad.
