@Keepitsimple Although i think the whole situation isn't helped by 'fuzzy-thinking' from governments when they do their pieces to camera that don't say much. But because they're saying it, some take that as a'batten down the hatches and head to the hills' message.

I’m not taking this lightly but I do think people need to have supplies and such and remember this isn’t the apocalypse. Be conscious of where you go and who you will be around so those with compromised immune systems don’t get sick. @Picklebobble2

@Keepitsimple The thing is, logic suggests that if you feel unwell, don't go to places with large crowds where you have to hang around in each others company for too long.

Which we all know makes sense. But makes none whatsoever if your government says "Carry on as normal" (re: going to work, using crowded train platforms; overfull carriages; flights; etc) but ISN'T closing schools or suggesting businesses change their work patterns.

@Keepitsimple they were yesterday......a lot of groceries and other supplies....shopping was something else

I wasn’t in the stores yesterday but I kept getting pics of people and empty shelves and the lines were crazy! I’m going to do home delivery today because I have my grandson and send husband to Sam’s for some other things. After this I’m done. I’m not going to make myself crazy. @cherokeepatti

@Keepitsimple since the boy is out of school for Spring Break starting today I wanted to get groceries cause he has 10 days off at home & it was forecast to rain all day I went yesterday....yikes worse than before a holiday combined with a pay day Friday, food stamp day, and before snow moving in. And it was Thursday mid-day. I would have hated to see what it was like after people got off work. Looked like people were planning on doing some gardening cause Lowe’s garden center was popping too

@Picklebobble2 I know some school districts are closing by me and I suspect the casino’s will shut down also soon. They don’t have a choice really because some people don’t care. We have people boarding airplanes waiting for the results of their test and doctors seeing patients who find out they are positive. I don’t see any other way around this really.

@Keepitsimple Oklahoma has a lot of casinos, the regulars will stay till they lock the doors. The local private school sent out a letter for in case schools are closed....they can give homework assignments online.

@Keepitsimple Well it's too late for a logical co-ordinated response now. Although doubtless they'll try.

I get that this particular problem is a new one and that all the scientists on the planet are working toward a treatment if not a cure, but i find the flaws in planning and response to the very possibility, a bit disturbing.

@cherokeepatti Well that's ONE of the other worries about all this.
I mean they suspected it was happening.
They still allowed flights to continue.
They still allowed folk to go to that area even once they knew.
They allowed folk who had been in that area to fly either home or elsewhere afterwards.
I mean if you were of a mind to watch what happens if you release a new agent among the worlds population this would certainly be one way to do it.

Al kinds of theories being surmised all over the world at the moment.
One i heard yesterday said that they thought it a conspiracy between governments to ensure people were sufficiently scared enough to stay home; order everything from their own country and have it delivered thus helping to keep their respective economies going.

@Picklebobble2 Psssttt it’s not about a virus. The reports are exaggerated. They haven’t released names or obituaries of the 16 elderly who have died in a nursing home. Wonder why?
