If you're a military veteran and somebody say thank you for your service

Would you feel good about it or feel like it was saracasm?

Presentation is everything!
When our boys came home from Viet Nam,
there were often hundreds of people waiting for them at the airports - Cool!

They were there to spit on the returning soldiers, throw stuff at them, berate them.

Fast forward to present day - there are various events from special veterans day things to national baseball league games, etc that have made a point to recognize the Viet Nam vets.

It IS appreciated.

I generally take it on face value, as people who say that usually aren’t being sarcastic but sincere.

When I collected my retirement I was good for whatever.
Just get me that green! 😅

I just say " You're welcome"
