I've done that once before and it's quite upsetting and embarrassing knowing you are so late. I wanted fish and chips so badly after uni. And there's a really good place near me. It's as if everything was set to go against me..
I was on a train that was severely delayed, the bus was late and it was just too far to walk.
I really felt sooo defeated especially as you could smell the lingering remnants of fish and chips with salt & vinegar...
Damn!
I didn't make a fuss though, thanked them and walked off.

@Peppa Thanks for not making a fuss, - I felt bad when I saw you walking away defeated. I wanted to yell after you that I would turn the fryer back on, but then, I really just wanted to go home.
