Why is it so hard to deal with cultural differences?

Depends. Are you excited about genital mutilation?
It isn't. Just gotta get out from within thy arsehole from time to time to appreciate it

Not you personally lol. Generally speaking

As long as there’s respect and open mindedness, there’s no issue

@SW-User out of all the answers so far you're the closest, and in reality my addition comes under respect, before visiting other countries we should learn and adhere to their rules and idiosyncratic ways, in some countries saying "no thanks" while raising and offering a raised right hand is considered a polite refusal, in a few countries it is considered extremely offensive.
Racist countries like the UK and Japan have a hard time dealing with anyone that is not their "type" We in the USA have to deal with all sorts of people some fit in and become productive members of the nation while others lately are just misfits (murderers and rapists - from shithole countries) we need to ban them.

@MarmeeMarch let's just shoot em
@MarineBob I'm thinking of using a big catapult and flinging them back.

As individuals we can converse and learn to respect cultural differences. Unfortunately most of the problems are created and exaggerate by the media. People are people everywhere and there is good and bad in every country regardless of race, colour or religion. The cycle can only be broken by people continuing to talk and respecting others

Those visiting or moving to another country should make sure they know the language, customs and laws
NenaRussa · 26-30, F
If you’re referring to the US, there is no official language and no set customs @MarineBob
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@NenaRussa because congress is lazy and don't want to offend some rich donors. Luckily my state has an official language
NenaRussa · 26-30, F
Why is that lucky? @MarineBob
I can't adapt with my own culture because I think it's stupid. I would enjoy a foreign culture that respects human rights.

It's like if someone told you a bad joke A LOT until it just wasn't funny anymore. 🗣️

Because posting selfies can get
you killed in some parts of the world.

Because humans. "You're different from me! You deserve violence!"

I think traveling helps. Not everyone can do it, but I've traveled all over and it's really changed my perspective on a lot of other cultures that I only had rudimentary ideas about.

People are creatures of habit
And not too willing to change or adjust practices or views that they have had all their lives
SW-User
@Rickg Some values are different.
Rambler · 61-69, M
Some people feel threatened by differences or anything that is unfamiliar
SW-User
@Rambler Orrrrr just disagree.
Miscommunications are only seen in hindsight.
