Yes I do. I respond kindly at first, and usually the person messaging you let's you know their intentions fairly quickly. And that is when I try and politely to either show interest in the person that messaged me, or to politely decline any further conversation with the messenger. It depends upon the person(s) approach and type of message.

No, I try to answer those that seem well thought out, and those from friends (even if they aren’t well thought out). I don’t answer message that just say “Hi” or “How are you” from people I don’t know.

It's quite easy to not consider them real messages. Not sure why they'd waste their time sending something to me really.

The only ones I don’t answer, and sometimes I still answer then, are ones where me are asking me to help them get off.
