Depends on how close the friendship is. I don't have many male friend in my culture friendship between the genders aren't encouraged though my best friend growing up was a boy. Go figure. But my closest male friends are probably my brother in law and my sisters bfs i hug and kiss them

It's something I expect more from an old lady, but if she's not an ex or someone I'm not interested in dating I'm okay with it. If she's my girlfriend or my wife, then I'd prefer the lips lol. No tongue though, we ain't got time for that.

i give all my women friends a hug and a kiss on the cheek when i see them, its only polite and shows how much you value there friendship. so yes its ok
