I'd credit him or her with being rather more Christian than many who claim to be Christian...
Anyway, why not? Think of the religion's earliest history: its founders, like Jesus himself, were Jews; so why not help celebrate a Jewish celebration?
A lot of religious people, including senior clergy, are rather more ecumenical than the claimants in my first statement may realise.
