Is it easier to be a single parent?

Like if you had money and weren't dependent on your spouse's salary.
Because you could grow the kid however you wanted and wouldn'd have to listen to a second opinion or go to compromises, etc.

I don't care how fine a person you are or how fine your child is...there will be times when you simply cannot be around them for another single moment. Having a partner to take the handoff is important.

Also, given that parents frequently don't know WHAT to do, a sounding board and a second opinion is a great comfort.

It can be done and it often is. But it's not optimum.
