I would have guessed as much. White men are more likely, I think, than any other group, to remember a time when their parents or grandparents could get by, well into the middle class, on a trade job. Therefore, white men are more likely to consider pursuing a trade job as a means of getting and staying into the middle class, while minority groups don't have such memories with regard to their family work and financial history and, hence, choose to go to college.
