Do you think it is rude when someone just stops chatting in a PM conversation?

Many times I get caught up in things like my kids or husband asking me for something, or one of my family members or friends might call me. Sometimes I don't get back to SW until hours later or the next day. There is a human being behind that screen who may have a very busy life, and certain things end up taking a default backseat is what I am saying 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I used to. Then I realized that Mom’s are the busiest people on earth, and women are generally three times as busy as men in the typical relationship. So..... you’ve got to allow for that!
@JavaJoe Yep! 😂
I am terrible for repying. Always forget or think I have. 😑
@LilPuckBunny I do my best but life calls, as I mentioned 🤷🏻‍♀️.

No I don’t think it’s rude. I understand folks have lives to live away from SW as do I ✨

You shouldn't even have to explain that.
I mean... depending on what you're talking about, for how long, when, how well they know you... I could see where a 'erf. gotta go!' might be appreciated. probably a little far to say it's 'rude', I think. assuming you do come back at some point and resume/continue.
I don't think it's rude. I think it's more polite to say, "Gotta go. Later," the way you would on the phone unless it's a fire or a car has just driven into your dining room.

I usually know if someone is busy but if I have to leave right away, I usually say I have to go etc if I'm in the middle of a convo going back and forth.
people should know by now I'm not good with having online conversation
all I seem to get is info gatherers
and it is like an unwelcome penetration

No. We have no idea what is going on with the person we are chatting with. They could be interrupted by a million different reasons

And if you live where I do the ISP isn’t always reliable and cell service can be spotty at times. Stuff happens!

Not really. I just assume they ran out of things to say or got busy with their life outside of SW.
Not at all - everybody has to leave the conversation sooner or later -

Not necessarily, there could be good reason they stopped.

It just depends on context.
That’s what I assume—real life has beckoned, and the person had to go. I never take it personally. I’m surprised when others do. 🙂

I just assume they are busy. Until it's been a few days. And then I forget about it.

Pffff they should be happy I even respond.
@SkeetSkeet I know, right? Like with my busy life 😆.
