Sounds like a very toxic environment. Best thing to do is either fortify yourself against those negative people/develop a different response and attitude, or look for more work whilst you're working here so you know you can just leave.
@Nebula glad we all see it... Problem is we could help each other but when you got a mortgage, a car on lease, mouths to feed stepping on someone takes preference for a lot of people.
