Why does it matter to others if I don’t let people get close to me?

Are they secretly in love with me and that’s why they’re salty that I push them away?

I think the trouble with this place is you see everyone daily, there is a familiarity, and they feel they know you, and are even friends. So when you don't respond as they hope or expect they get bitter..plus there are an awful lot of people who are just very entitled
