Why does it matter to others if I don’t let people get close to me?

I think its your choice to let people in or not.
Nobody else has a say in it.

Sometimes people do care about you but most of the time they are justing being pushy.

I think the trouble with this place is you see everyone daily, there is a familiarity, and they feel they know you, and are even friends. So when you don't respond as they hope or expect they get bitter..plus there are an awful lot of people who are just very entitled
