Which is more ethical?

1. Hunting to fill your freezer

2. Buying all your meat from the grocery store?
My personal opinion is - if you eat meat, hunting is more ethical, because you can't kid yourself those steaks grew in a styrafoam tray.
It isn't a matter of ethics. Both are acceptable ways to feed your family.

If you hunt to fill your freezer, you are killing the animal yourself and have the opportunity to kill it in a more humane way Also I feel like you're more likely to value it more. Assuming we aren't hunting animals to extinction, hunting looks like it has the potential to be much more ethical than buying from a grocery store. Animals get to be free, not crammed into barns and cages, pumped with antibiotics to keep them from succumbing to the crammed living quarters. The way we mass raise animals for meat has a long way to go as far as ethics.

Hunting. People who hunt to fill their freezer have a tendency not to waste their hard earned food. There are people who buy from the grocery store, fill their freezers and forget what's in it, eventually having to toss something that's been sitting in there too long.

Both because there is a need for each and certain animals aren’t accessible to the everyday hunter.

I don't consider one more ethical than the other. While it difficult for me understand how anyone can get a thrill out of killing an animal, I don't think there is any moral "high ground" in buying their meat in neat little packages from a store.
Buying your meat from the grocery store (or butcher shop), if one is available to you. They prevent people from needing to hunt.
