They used a Mann-Whitney “U” test to account for that. It says that on the article. I don't know if you know what that is, but it tests the null hypothesis that two samples come from the same population. If this is unsatisfactory, you can easily find more data that shows the same thing, or at least something similar. It's pretty consistent.

@SW-User why the vast differences in male participates and female participates? Seems like they could have chose 33 of each, and had a way more accurate study. Add to that men are less likely to open up about it,

@Unequal2Trash I wouldn't know. Possibly. Men do tend to just close up and not talk about stuff. The people in the study were volunteers, so they couldn't exactly choose. Using the U test accounts for the sample, so it isn't exactly any less accurate than having the same number. Either way, they used a chi square goodness of fit test, so that determines if it matches an entire population.
