do you think

the term hater is being overused like when you don’t like something or someone that someone else likes it’s like they think people are supposed to like all the same things like how boring it’s called preference people

I think the way the media and advertising describes everything using superlatives has made us lose some of the subtlety of our language. And stupid clickbait that says "Watch X DESTROY Y to DEATH" and when you click on it, it's two old ladies having a bit of a laugh.

Everything has to be the best or the worst, the most amazing thing ever, or worst. I saw someone comment on YouTube to a clip of someone chopping vegetables and they said, "This is the worst thing that's ever happened".

I really like the nuance of our language and it feels like we're reducing ourselves to simpler and simpler vocabs.

It's a cheap way to instantly insult people.
Sad sign of the times unfortunately

The word hate is overused! It should be withheld for really bad things/people!
