I think the way the media and advertising describes everything using superlatives has made us lose some of the subtlety of our language. And stupid clickbait that says "Watch X DESTROY Y to DEATH" and when you click on it, it's two old ladies having a bit of a laugh.
Everything has to be the best or the worst, the most amazing thing ever, or worst. I saw someone comment on YouTube to a clip of someone chopping vegetables and they said, "This is the worst thing that's ever happened".
I really like the nuance of our language and it feels like we're reducing ourselves to simpler and simpler vocabs.
